Labor Day Monday was insane! The weather was crackin, the kids were out, Aloha Island Grille was providing the grinds (no pun intended) and there was no shortage of Tarp Barrels being pulled for the kids. Santa Cruz Skate and Surf Shop hosted the event on Monday September 6th as the 1st annual Tarp Surfing Extravaganza to benefit Grind Out Hunger. Once again, the youth of Santa Cruz County came through and between food donated and cash paid to get Tarp Barrels they managed to raise over 500 pounds of food or cash equivalent. YouTube Legends Homer Henard, Omar Etcheverry, Chris Killen (Ruse Entertainment) threw major Tarp Kegs while Dana “SkimShady” along with FujiTV from Japan, Tyler Fox of SantaCruzWaves.com and Seth Migdail professional photographer at large came down to capture the event. Dana “Skimshady” got all suited up and provided a killer water angle. After hundreds of Tarp Sessions, the day was wrapped up the kids went home with dreams in their heads and a few more kids won’t go hungry in Santa Cruz County. Thanks to all that were involved, you made the day AWESOME!
