Grind Out Hunger Night Presented by Wells Fargo Raises Over $3,000 in Custom Jersey Auction
The Kaiser Permanente Arena was packed last Tuesday night as the Santa Cruz Warriors donned slick, custom black and yellow jerseys in honor Grind Out Hunger night, sponsored by Wells Fargo. Throughout the game, fans flocked to the auction table to bid on the jerseys being worn during the game. At the end of the third quarter, it was a battle to the finish as people were bidding one after another until the buzzer. At the end of the game, the jerseys were presented to the winners by the players; many taking the time to take photos and sign autographs. Even an injured Seth Curry came out from the locker room to take a moment with the fans.
Our own Hunger Fighters were also very well represented throughout the game. Q joined Congressman Sam Farr on the court during the National Anthem. At half time, former mayor Hilary Bryant was acknowledged for all of her hard work by the Santa Cruz Police Department and the Santa Cruz Warriors and was presented with her very own custom Grind Out Hunger jersey. We were also honored to be presented with a $10,000 donation from Wells Fargo, which they handed directly to some of our Hunger Fighters at center-court.
Grind Out Hunger night was a huge success and none of it would have been possible without the amazing partnership that we have with Wells Fargo. Since the beginning, Wells Fargo has played an integral role as a sponsor and supporter of our mission and we couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you to everyone at Wells Fargo and to everyone who bid on the jerseys and attended the game!
Also, thank you to our friends at Pono Hawaiian Grill for hosting our pre-game dinner with Wells Fargo.
