Santa Cruz Style Magazine just released their Winter 2012 issue with Grind Out Hunger featured in 2 main articles. First article is all about Hunger Fighter snowboarder Marissa Hushaw. It goes into detail about how Marissa got started with snowboarding and her curent involvement with Grind Out Hunger. Here is a quick quote within the article from Marissa; “We live in the Salad Bowl. It’s so beautiful out here. We have so many agricultural surroundings. I Thought ‘How could anyone who lives here go hungry?’…
The article event hints at her upcoming Grind Out Hunger rail Jam happening at China Peak this winter. More on that to come soon…

The second article features the opening of the new Grind Out Hunger Headquarters and the charity’s relationship with Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County. It talks about the mission of Grind Out Hunger and how the non profit engages the youth to get involved. Within the article Grind Out Hunger founder Danny Keith explains; “I’ve been asking kids who are part of our community, but havent been asked to help before to make a difference in someone else’s life…Kids know more than we think they know, and we have a whole community standing at the ready to help.”
