I always enjoy going out to the schools and talking to kids. This is the second year we Grind Out Hunger has engaged Gateway School for the Second Harvest/Grind Out Hunger campaign it was a great place to start. Ok, so can I brag a little about Gateway…2007-2008 the school only raised 797 pounds…in 2008-2009 they hit Emerald Status and brought in a whopping 2763 pounds an increase of 246%!!! I issued the challenge for 2009-2010, the kids were on it and ready to go big again this year. Thanks to Lisa and Bly from Second Harvest Food Bank for being so on it and kicking off the year with a bang.
